After about 4 months of work, Deck Fury is now out of its pre-alpha stage and is officially in open alpha!

Major Features Added

  • Procedural Map Generation
    • New procedural map generation system has been developed and the stage map is no longer static. Each run will now be different every time - the system uses a string seed to generate pseudo-random stage maps. At the moment it is not possible to use your own string seed to generate the map but this is a planned feature.

    • NOTE: At the current moment shops just go to the rest stage as shops have not yet been implemented yet. Mystery stages will also simply go to a generic combat stages as events have not yet been implemented.

  • Options Menu
    • An options menu has been added which will allow you to adjust audio settings and gameplay settings. Currently there is only 1 gameplay setting which is the Relative Aiming option, which will be explained in greater detail below.

  • Relative Aiming Option
    • New Relative Aiming option now available in the options menu.

    • By default, the player can only aim in the 4 cardinal directions, and will try to aim in the direction closest to the mouse position. This generally works but some players may find it annoying when their aim direction changes whenever the player moves but not the mouse which can cause some players to miss their shots in some cases. This becomes worse the closer the player is to the edges of the screen, causing players to sometimes need to adjust their mouse position in an awkward fashion in order to aim properly.

    • When the Relative Aiming option is enabled, the player's aim direction will now face towards a virtual cursor that is attached to the player, such that when the player moves, the cursor moves with them and will always remain in a position relative to the player even when the player moves their mouse. This new option may make it easier for some players to aim their attacks by making their aim direction constant until the player actually decides to move their mouse position.
