v1.7.0-alpha Patch Notes

In this update I've implemented some basic meta-progression in the form of Starting Decks and built the framework required for achievements down the line - the same system will likely also be used to track other forms of meta-progression that will come later on.

There's two new cards added in this update. I've also gone ahead and removed some of the older cards that either didn't work very well or were poorly designed (or both).

Meta-Progression: Starting Decks

Upon starting the game, you can now select from a number Starting Decks which is essentially the cards you start with. At first you only have access to the basic deck (AKA Beginner's Blend) but you will be able to unlock the later decks by completing various objectives. These are all tracked in Unity's PlayerPrefs and thus are persistent across sessions. Unless you clear your browser cache, you will retain access to the decks you unlock even if you quit the session.


New Cards: Missile Strike + Scissor Slash

Two new cards have been added to the game, Missile Strike and Scissor Slash. The theme here is Sweet Spots, and both cards encourage proper positioning when using them as they have sweet spots in their effective range that offer better damage output.

Missile Strike:

  • Base Damage: 75
  • Element: Neutral
  • Status Effect: None
  • Rarity: Common
  • Description: Call down a missile 4 tiles ahead which after a 0.75s delay explodes in a 3x3 area, dealing 75 damage to all enemies in the area.
    Enemies on the center tile take an additional 75 damage.



Scissor Slash:

  • Base Damage: 40
  • Element: Blade
  • Status Effect: None
  • Rarity: Common
  • Description: Slash in a 2x3 area ahead, dealing 40 damage, with enemies caught in the middle being hit twice.
